Lesson 4: Graphing Linear Functions

Use slope-intercept form to generate graph points.

For a line in slope-intercept form, slope controls steepness and direction, while the intercept sets where the line crosses the y-axis.

Key formula

y=mx+by=mx+b

Worked example

y=5x−6,  x=5⇒y=19y=5x-6,\;x=5\Rightarrow y=19
