Lesson 7: Graphing Linear Functions

Use slope-intercept form to generate graph points.

For a line in slope-intercept form, slope controls steepness and direction, while the intercept sets where the line crosses the y-axis.

Key formula

y=mx+by=mx+b

Worked example

y=2x−8,  x=−4⇒y=−16y=2x-8,\;x=-4\Rightarrow y=-16
