Lesson 2: Graphing Linear Functions

Use slope-intercept form to generate graph points.

For a line in slope-intercept form, slope controls steepness and direction, while the intercept sets where the line crosses the y-axis.

Key formula

y=mx+by=mx+b

Worked example

y=1x−5,  x=−2⇒y=−7y=1x-5,\;x=-2\Rightarrow y=-7
